Lions Clubs’ Korea visit strengthens international goodwill and friendship

SIBU: A delegation of Lions Clubs International District 308-A2 recently visited the Incheon 354-F District of Lions Clubs International of Korea to strengthen friendship and promote the Asia Pacific Lions Leaders Summit 2026 to be held here from July 17 to 19 next year.

Led by First Vice District Governor, Datuk Jimmy Tie Hien Hwa, and Past District Governor, Datuk Betty Wong Yieng, they were warmly received by Incheon 354-F District Governor, Kim Jung-Gook, First Vice District Governor, Kim Tae-Hee, and Second Vice District Governor, Park Bong Hwan.

A dialogue session was subsequently convened in a cordial and enthusiastic atmosphere, reflecting the close friendship between both districts.

According to Wong, the visit aimed to strengthen international goodwill between District 308-A2 and District 354-F, as well as to promote and exchange ideas regarding the upcoming Asia Pacific Lions Leaders Summit 2026.

During the dialogue session, both parties engaged in an in-depth discussion on organisational development, service projects, youth leadership cultivation, and potential future collaborations.

As the organising chairperson of the Asia Pacific Lions Leaders Summit 2026, Wong presented a detailed briefing on the summit’s preparation progress, theme and participation of international dignitaries.

She extended a formal invitation to the leaders of District 354-F to attend the three-day event, which will bring together Lions leaders from more than 17 countries across the Asia Pacific region, symbolising the shared Lions spirit of unity beyond borders and dedication to service.

“We sincerely look forward to the participation of our fellow Lions from Korea to witness this historic and inspiring event together,” Wong added.

During the visit, both districts exchanged souvenirs as a gesture of goodwill and friendship.

Kim Jung-Gook presented a souvenir to Tie, symbolising the lasting friendship between the two districts.

In return, Tie presented a commemorative gift to Kim Tae-Hee, expressing gratitude and mutual respect.

After the meeting, both delegations took a group photo in front of the grand and impressive 354-F District headquarters building, capturing a meaningful moment of cross-border fellowship and unity.
