SIBU: A delegation of Lions International District 308-A2 made an official visit to the Incheon Marine Sky MJF Lions Club in Incheon, South Korea, recently, in an effort to strengthen international friendship and advancing collaboration for the Asia Pacific Lions Leaders’ Summit (APLLS) 2026 to be held here in mid-July next year.

The delegation led by Lions International District 308-A2 First Vice-Governor, Datuk Jimmy Tie together with Past District Governor, Datuk Wong Yieng, who is also APLLS organising chairperson, met with the club’s leadership for a cordial and meaningful exchange session.

According to Wong, the visit was aimed at enhancing international friendship between the two districts, deepen cross-border collaboration among Lions Clubs, and promote the upcoming APLLS 2026.

Upon arrival at the club location, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Club president, Jang Jun Hee, who prepared a special welcome banner to honour the visit of the District 308-A2 leaders.

The reception was also attended by the Club First Vice-President, Won Ji Yeon; Club Secretary, Won Ji Won; and several board members.

During the exchange meeting, both sides shared their district service initiatives and experiences in community programmes, youth development, long-term service planning, and various social impact activities.

Wong stated that the discussion was lively and constructive, reflecting the strong bond and goodwill between the two Lions communities.

She gave a detailed briefing on the scale, international significance, and anticipated participation of the APLLS 2026.

The summit is expected to gather Lions leaders from at least 17 countries, making it one of the most influential international Lions events in the Asia-Pacific region.

Delighted that the leadership of Incheon Marine Sky MJF Lions Club expressed strong interest in the summit and conveyed their full support for District 308-A2’s efforts, Wong said they also confirmed that the club will actively arrange representatives to participate in this important international gathering.

Both parties, she said, further discussed potential avenues for joint service activities, opportunities for cross-border collaboration, and youth exchange programmes.

“They expressed hope that continuous mutual visits will strengthen the international Lions network and foster more impactful global service initiatives in the future,” Wong added.
