KUCHING: Batu Kitang assemblyman Datuk Lo Khere Chiang has called on youths and working adults to adopt yoga as part of their daily lifestyle for long-term wellness and emotional resilience.
Lo said yoga provides more than just physical fitness, adding that it is also a path to self-discovery, balance, and inner peace.
“In our fast-paced society, yoga offers a space for reflection and healing. It reminds us to live with mindfulness and to reconnect with ourselves and others,” he said during the 11th International Day of Yoga 2025 celebration held at the Hare Krishna Multipurpose Hall this morning (May 25).
Lo also reiterated his support for initiatives that promote multicultural unity and healthy living in Sarawak, and commended International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON Kuching) for its contributions to community building and social harmony.
“In a world that is often divided by differences, ISKCON promotes universal values—love, peace, respect, and compassion—bringing people together beyond race, religion, or background,” he said.
For the record, he event, hosted by ISKCON Kuching in collaboration with the Art of Living Foundation, the High Commission of India, Malaysia Hindu Sangam, and the Sarawak State Council, brought together people from all walks of life to promote health, mindfulness, and unity through the ancient practice of yoga.
The International Day of Yoga, officially recognised by the United Nations since 2015, is now celebrated worldwide and continues to grow in popularity for its positive impact on both individual health and community cohesion.
