KUCHING: Batu Kitang Assemblyman, Datuk Ir Lo Khere Chiang, hosted a special Media Night in conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival, bringing together members of the media for an evening of appreciation and camaraderie.
The event, held at Bangkok Thai Seafood Restaurant here on Thursday night, was aimed at recognising the important role of media practitioners as a bridge between the people and the government in delivering news and connecting communities.
“The Mid-Autumn Festival reminds us of reunion and sharing. On this festive occasion, I wish everyone happiness, good health, and success,” said Lo in his address to the media representatives.
He added that the gathering was also an opportunity to strengthen ties and foster closer friendship with members of the press, whose continuous support and coverage have been instrumental in informing the public.
He said that the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Mooncake Festival, is traditionally celebrated as a time of togetherness and harmony, symbolised by the full moon.
