MIRI: Police arrested a local man who was caught red-handed trying to steal roadside cables along the route toward the GL Roundabout.

The swift response came from the MPV unit of the Miri district police headquarters, led by Sergeant Helmi Rosli. Officers seized a set of tools believed to have been used in the attempted theft, reinforcing suspicions that the man had targeted the area deliberately.

He is now being held at the Miri Central Police Station (CPS) ) lock-up as investigators pursue charges under Sections 379 and 511 of the Penal Code.

Police are calling on the public to stay vigilant, avoid involvement in crime, and report any suspicious activity that could support ongoing efforts to keep Miri safe.
