During the official launch of the bazaar yesterday, Tanjong Datu Assemblyman, Azizul Adenan, highlighted the significance of the annual event in strengthening community ties.

Apart from fostering unity, it is also anticipated to boost the local economy by providing opportunities for local traders as they prepare for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

“This bazaar not only livens up the Ramadan atmosphere but also serves as a platform for small businesses to thrive, supporting the economic well-being of the people,” he said.

However, he also reminded traders to maintain strict hygiene standards in food preparation and sales to prevent any unwanted incident.

“Although the Lundu District Council is actively monitoring cleanliness throughout the bazaar, vendors must take responsibility in ensuring a safe and conducive environment for all visitors,” he added.

Meanwhile, Lundu District Council Chairman, Awang Yusup Awang Mostapha, revealed that a total of 79 stalls have been registered for this year’s bazaar, with 65 operating in Lundu and 14 in Sematan.
