KUCHING: A photo taken near a longhouse in Saratok is going viral on Reddit, prompting speculation that a Northrop B-2 Spirit stealth bomber may have flown over the area.
The image was posted on the r/Sarawak subreddit under the title _ ‘Something sus in the skies of Saratok?’_ by Reddit user Anubiroz.
According to the post, the photo was taken by a friend in the afternoon and shows a dark, boomerang-shaped silhouette in the sky.
In the description, it read “Taken by a friend near his longhouse at Saratok in the afternoon… Zoom in… does it look like a kite or a stealth bomber. He said it made a swish sound… Hmmmm. Looks kinda sus for a kite or a drone.”
The post quickly gathered attention, with several users weighing in.
One commenter, Monsta_Owl, wrote: “B2 bomber by the looks of it.”
Another commenter, ster_dav, argued that it is not a B2 bomber: “That is a FPV wing, made mostly from shaved styrofoam.”
Reddit user, AvangeliceMY9088, questioned the appearance of the aircraft: “It’s impossible for them to reach us here and why though?”
The speculation hinges on the object’s resemblance to the B-2 Spirit – a long-range United States Air Force stealth aircraft.
The B-2 is known for its characteristic flying-wing shape and radar-evading capabilities, and is capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear weapons.
It has been in service since the 1990s and was reportedly deployed in strikes on Iran this year.
