KOTA SAMARAHAN: A driver and his assistant were injured in a collision between two lorries at the Batang Samarahan Bridge yesterday.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department, the two lorries were transporting hardware goods when the accident happened at 8.35am.

Firefighters confirmed the collision which caused two individuals to be trapped in one of the lorries.

The driver of the Toyota lorry sustained minor injuries, while his assistant suffered leg injuries. However, the driver of the other lorry emerged unharmed.

The fire department swiftly executed a rescue operation, extricating the trapped victims using specialised tools.

Emergency Medical Response Service (EMRS) administered first aid treatment before they were taken by an ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
