SIBU: A 38-year-old lorry driver died, suspected of having a heart attack, before crashing into a pickup truck on Jalan Tun Zaidi Adruce yesterday (Feb 12).
According to Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili, the incident occurred at around 11.36 am.
“The accident happened when a pickup truck, driven by a 49-year-old local man, stopped at a traffic light at the Jalan Tun Zaidi Adruce junction and was hit from behind by a lorry.
“The lorry was driven by a 38-year-old local man who was suspected to have suffered a heart attack,” he said in a statement today (Feb 13).
Zulkipli added that the lorry driver was found lying inside the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Nevertheless the police are still conducting further investigations under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he added.
