SIBU: Lanang Pickleball Club (LPC) successfully organised the Lanang Pickleball Club All-Star Tournament at MyCentre here recently, bringing together the club’s top-performing players in a competitive yet celebratory setting.
The All-Star Tournament featured players who qualified through consistent performances, with participants selected from winners of LPC’s monthly fun games.
This unique format not only rewarded dedication and skill but also encouraged regular participation and healthy competition among club members.
After a series of exciting matches, Shahrizan Sharif, partnered with Jackey Hii Yii Guong, emerged as champions.
George Tang Sen Yang and Yong Liang Cheng finished as first runners-up, followed by Tiong Chung Lee and John Wong Kiong Seng in second place.
The third runners-up title went to Tham Yoh Yin and Yaakup Kepeli.
In his closing remarks, LPC president Daniel Iing said the event reflected the club’s commitment to promoting pickleball in Sibu while strengthening camaraderie among players of different backgrounds and skill levels.
He added that the strong turnout and enthusiastic participation demonstrated the growing popularity of pickleball within the local community.
“Our club will continue to organise regular activities and tournaments to further develop the sport and nurture new talents in Sibu,” he said.
