KUCHING: Kuching City FC has received a fresh boost as Lea Sports Centre (LSC) renewed its role as the club’s official kit and equipment sponsor through a new five-year agreement signed today (Aug 3).

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Kuching City FC’s chief executive officer (CEO) Iswandi Ali Hassan and LSC managing director Raymond Sim, witnessed by club chairman Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman.

Under the renewed agreement, LSC will continue as the official supplier of The Cats’ jerseys and sportswear for all tournaments and official events until 2030, extending a partnership that began in 2015, when the club was still known as Kuching FA.

Iswandi expressed the club’s appreciation for the long-standing partnership, saying LSC’s support goes beyond providing equipment as it reflects a shared commitment to the development of football in Sarawak.

Meanwhile, Fazzrudin described LSC as part of the Kuching City FC family, having stood by the team since its formative years.

“They were with us when we were just getting started and in need of support.

“They are more than just sponsors — they have helped us in countless ways that words can hardly describe. We are truly grateful for their commitment,” he said.

On the club’s competitive ambitions, Fazzrudin revealed that the club is targeting a top-five finish this season.

“This year, many teams are coming in well-prepared, and competition will be tougher. But our goal remains to finish among the top five,” he told reporters when met after the MoU signing.

He added that the squad currently consists of 29 registered players, including three additional signings approved by the Malaysian Football League (MFL), with ongoing evaluations as the mid-season approaches.

He also called on fans to show support for the team in their upcoming home match against Kelantan on Aug 9.

“I urge all our supporters to come to the stadium and be our 12th man. Your presence is vital in lifting the team’s spirit,” he said.
