KUCHING: Several youth leaders of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) have declared their support for Lubok Antu MP Roy Angau Gingkoi’s candidacy for the party’s Youth Chief at the upcoming Triennial Delegates Conference (TDC).
PRS Sri Aman Youth deputy chief Fredrick Edward Gerijih and Central Youth EXCO member Brauszelt Elden Usah from the Mambong constituency, in a joint statement said Roy, a 46-year-old lawyer and youth activist, possesses the leadership qualities, experience and vision to steer PRS Youth towards progressive and inclusive reforms aligned with the aspirations of Sarawak’s younger generation.

“Roy, who is still young and energetic, has strong leadership qualities and a clear vision to empower the younger generation, including rural youth who require greater access to opportunities in education, technology and the economy,” they said.
They also believe Roy’s leadership would serve as a catalyst for positive change and strengthen the role of youth as strategic partners in shaping the party’s direction.
Their endorsement is also based on confidence in his integrity, strong communication skills and ability to build extensive collaborative networks for PRS’s future.
“Roy has also been instrumental in providing support and funding for various youth programmes, including skills development initiatives, sports and grassroots leadership activities, which have had a tangible positive impact on youth communities across the state, they said.
Besides Roy, two other party members, Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira Sambang and Murum assemblymen Kennedy Chukpai Ugon have also offered themselves as candidates for PRS Youth chief.
“While the contest is expected to be keen, the PRS Sri Aman Youth Wing is confident that Roy’s experience, vision and dedication make him the best candidate to lead PRS Youth to greater heights,” they said.
