SIBU: A RM5,000 cash prize and the prestigious challenge trophy await the champion of the Gold Plate category at the Sarawak Closed Darts Championship 2026, set to take place at the Sri Krian Community Hall, Saratok on Aug 1 and 2
Organised by the Saratok Darts Sports Club (KSDS), the tournament aims to uncover emerging talents while strengthening the development of darts across Sarawak.
The Gold Plate competition offers the tournament’s biggest reward, with the champion taking home RM5,000 and the challenge trophy. The runners-up will receive RM2,500 and a trophy, while third and fourth place finishers will each earn RM1,000 and a trophy.
Cash prizes will also be awarded to players finishing in the Top 8 and Top 16, who will receive RM350 and RM150 respectively, along with medals.
Meanwhile, the Silver Plate category will see the winners pocket RM500 and a medal, followed by RM400 for the runners-up. Third and fourth place finishers will each receive RM200, while the Top 8 participants will be awarded RM50 each.
Tournament organisers have set the registration fee at RM250 per team. However, as an early-bird incentive, the first 70 teams to register will enjoy a discounted entry fee of RM200.
The preliminary stage will be played in a Round Robin format using 501 x 3 Legs, before progressing to the knockout and semi-final rounds under a 501 x 5 Legs format. The championship match will be contested over 501 x 7 Legs.
To uphold the professionalism of the tournament, strict dress regulations will be enforced. Participants are prohibited from wearing jeans, sleeveless shirts, collarless tops, shorts, slippers and caps throughout the competition.
The organisers also stressed that the consumption of alcohol and the use of illegal drugs are strictly prohibited at the tournament venue.
