KUCHING: Guest of honour Santubong MP Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar will receive the GPS Flag Rally convoy at the Civic Centre in Lundu at 3pm today.
Besides Junaidi, Tanjong Datu state assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu will also be presenting a speech as the main organiser of the event.
A lot of fun activities like line dancing, poco-poco, zumba will be held in conjunction with the GPS Flag Rally tour in Lundu.
Jamilah told New Sarawak Tribune yesterday that she had been going round her constituency to explain the mission and vision of the newly formed GPS to her people.
“My constituency is roughly the size of Negeri Sembilan in land mass but has around 13,000 voters,” she explained.
Jamilah plans to visit all her constituents after the official launching of GPS on Jan 19.
She said she would be inspecting projects that she had approved either through the Minor Rural Programme or the Rural Transformation Programme.
Apart from infrastructure like roads, she is also working on getting electricity and clean water supply for villagers in her constituency.
Jamilah explained further that she would also be looking to inspect projects that she had approved either through her MRP (Minor Rural Projects) or RTP (Rural Transformation Projects).
Recently, Jamilah asked the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) for help to assist with the renovations and repairs of St. Stephen Church at RayuIban and the Methodist Preaching Centre in Lundu.
She secured RM150,000 each for the two churches and will be going down to monitor the work in progress as part of her commitment to Unifor that the funds be used for the prescribed purposes.
