
KUCHING: A luxury car parked at a road shoulder at Jalan Datuk Abdul Rahman Yaakup was totally damaged after it caught fire early Friday morning.
It was learnt that the vehicle had broken down, forcing the driver to stop at the road shoulder before it caught fire.
According to the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), 10 personnel in a fire engine and EMRS vehicle from Petra Jaya fire station led by Senior Fire Officer II Wan Umar rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 2.09am.
They arrived at the scene 6 minutes later and immediately doused the flames.
“The operation commander reported that the car was 100 per cent damaged in the incident and no injuries were reported,” the department said in a statement here.
