KUCHING: The 15th M.O Gala Sarawak 2025 is set to make a grand return this year, celebrating fashion, arts, culture, and creativity while showcasing Sarawak’s emerging talents on the international stage.
First introduced in 2010, the annual event has grown into one of Sarawak’s most iconic showcases for fashion and creative arts, becoming a highly anticipated highlight in the state’s cultural calendar.
Organised by Persatuan Bakat Dayak Sarikei in collaboration with M.O Event Management, the 15th edition will take place on September 13, 2025 at the Grand Ballroom of Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club, Miri.
Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Snowdan Lawan, commended the event’s role in promoting Sarawak’s creative industry, describing it as a prestigious platform that celebrates innovation while preserving the state’s cultural heritage.
“The Gala M.O Sarawak is not just a fashion showcase. It is a symbol of the harmonious blend between culture, heritage, and modern innovation,” he said during the press conference for the event held at the Mulu Room, Baitulmakmur II yesterday (Aug 22).
This year’s edition, themed “Elegant and Prestigious”, will feature exclusive fashion segments highlighting designs inspired by Sarawak’s cultural heritage, created by local designers.
A key highlight is the grand finale of ‘The Face M.O Sarawak – Cycle 9’, where 10 finalists will compete for the coveted title and attractive prizes, including RM3,000 in cash, products and services worth RM5,000 sponsored by TOMEI, a four-day, three-night holiday package to Ho Chi Minh, and service vouchers from Borneo Medispa.
The first and second runners-up will also walk away with cash prizes of RM2,000 and RM1,000 respectively, along with additional sponsored products, services, and vouchers.
Snowdan added that The Gala has empowered Sarawak’s young creative talents, especially in modelling and performing arts, while boosting the state’s reputation as a hub for cultural and creative industries.
He also called on government agencies, private sectors, and the public to continue supporting such initiatives to further strengthen Sarawak’s creative tourism sector.
The 15th The Gala M.O Sarawak 2025 is expected to attract top designers, national celebrities, international beauty queens, and cultural performers, making it one of the most glamorous creative events in Sarawak this year.
