KUCHING: Ma Hung Foodstuff Sdn Bhd demonstrated its ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) by organising its second annual Ramadan food aid programme at Surau Darul Hassanah, Kampung Tabuan Dani, here on Friday (March 6).

Led by the company’s director, Datuk Tay Yung Hock, and his wife, Datin Grace Toh, the initiative saw the distribution of 200 food baskets containing 5 kilogrammes (kg) of rice, 200 packets of 1 kg sugar and 300 portions of freshly prepared ‘bubur lambuk’ to asnaf recipients and underprivileged members of the local community.

“We believe that the wealth of our business is the result of the support of the community. Therefore, we want to use this benefit for those who need it,” he said in his speech at the event.

Beyond the material contributions, the programme also reflects the company’s commitment to fostering long-term relationships with the local community.

Volunteers began preparing the food from early morning, highlighting the personal involvement of the company’s team in ensuring the quality and sincerity of the contribution.

The initiative forms part of the 12th Annual Social Ranggau Jawa series, underscoring Ma Hung Foodstuff’s consistent track record of community investment over the years.

The event was held in collaboration with the management of Surau Darul Hassanah and supported by local community leaders and AJK members who volunteered their time and effort.

Also present were political secretary to the Premier, Abang Abdul Aziz Abang Draup, and the PBB Samajaya chief, Datuk Dr Paruwadi Musa.
