KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21 (Bernama) — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will host the 5th National Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption Research Conference (JKKTN) 2026 on Sept 25.
Themed ‘MADANI as a Catalyst for Integrity-Based Governance Towards a Corruption-Free Malaysia’, the conference will be held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), with its closing ceremony to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
MACC National Governance Planning Division (BPGN) senior director Datuk Idris Zaharudin said the conference, organised by BPGN, would bring together 1,000 participants from various stakeholder groups.
“The conference is an important platform for strengthening the sharing of knowledge and research findings related to governance, integrity and anti-corruption, in line with the aspiration of ‘MADANI as a Catalyst for Integrity-Based Governance Towards a Corruption-Free Malaysia’.
“Researchers and participants will also be able to exchange views and assess appropriate approaches to addressing current challenges related to governance, integrity and corruption risks,” he said in a statement today.
Idris said six research papers would be presented at this year’s conference by six research entities from six local higher learning institutions.
The higher learning institutions involved are the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).
He said the conference was not merely a platform for presenting research findings, but would also provide an avenue for the findings and recommendations to be openly shared with participants as input for improvements in their respective organisations.
“The involvement of research institutions also underscores the importance of collaboration between MACC and academia in producing studies that provide a more comprehensive picture of governance, integrity and anti-corruption issues,” he said.
Idris said the research findings were expected to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and serve as useful input for stakeholders in formulating more effective approaches and strategies to strengthen governance, integrity and anti-corruption practices in their respective institutions.
The conference, which reflects the Government’s commitment to combating corruption, is an annual MACC initiative aimed at linking academic findings with actual needs towards building a corruption-free nation.
