MIRI: A 43-year-old man armed with a machete ran amok and chased his parents out of their house after his demand for cash was denied.
Fortunately, his 70-year-old father managed to flee with his wife unharmed.
The incident took place in a house at RPR Batu 6 on Friday at around 7am.
A police report was lodged that same day.
Sources said the parents suspected their son wanted to use the money to sustain his drug addiction.
Aware of his addiction, they refused his demand. This infuriated the suspect and caused him to run amok.
