KUCHING: The MADANI government remains committed to the welfare of Malaysian Armed Forces personnel and the surrounding civilian community, says First Infantry Division Commander, Major General Datuk Khairul Anuar Abd Aziz.
He conveyed his appreciation to the Prime Minister’s Department, particularly the Prime Minister, for initiatives that have improved the well-being of army personnel and their families.
“This includes salary adjustments made previously, as well as upgrades and improvements to army camps, infrastructure, and family housing, to ensure the well-being and comfort of the personnel and their families,” he said during the 2025 Gawai Celebration of the Jelajah Wira MADANI at Penrissen Camp here today.
The programme was officiated by Commander of the Eastern Field Army, Lieutenant General Datuk Mohd Sofi Md Lepi.
Khairul said the programme is not merely a cultural celebration but serves as a platform to express the appreciation of the MADANI government to the members of the Malaysian Armed Forces and their families, who have made tremendous sacrifices for the safety and sovereignty of our nation.
“The Gawai MADANI celebration also aims to foster the spirit of patriotism among the families of the Malaysian Armed Forces and the local community,” he added.
“Through programmes like this, we can strengthen our bonds of kinship, nurture love for the homeland, and cultivate noble values in line with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI.”
Furthermore, he said the programme provides an opportunity to reach out to and celebrate the families of the Malaysian Armed Forces alongside the local community in an atmosphere of harmony and togetherness.
“The presence of all parties today reflects the strong spirit of solidarity and unity between the Malaysian Armed Forces and the people, guided by the values of Malaysia MADANI, which emphasise unity, understanding and harmony in our multi-ethnic society,” he added.
