KUCHING: The Sarawak Women and Family Department (JWKS) will host the inaugural Family Day 2025 at the MetroCity Convention Centre (MCCC) here tomorrow (Saturday).
In conjunction with the National Family Month celebration in November, this one-day event aims to strengthen family bond among local residents.
“Under the theme ‘Happy Family, Prosperous Sarawak’, a variety of family-oriented activities have been lined up, including a 3-km Fun Walk, aerobics, makeup demonstrations and activities, culinary sessions, traditional games, colouring, mini 4WD Challenge, open Mic Karaoke, and Soopa Doopa,” according to a press release on Thursday.
“Additionally, service booths will offer health screenings, dental check-ups, women’s reproductive health checks, utility bill payments, assistance from government and private agencies, as well as mobile legal services Justice on Wheels.
“The programme also provides a platform for JWKS-supported entrepreneurs to showcase their products, alongside Jualan Rahmah Madani and food trucks.
A Stakeholder Engagement Session and Hands-On Grant and Assistance Applications by JWKS will also take place during the event.
“Family Day 2025 will be officiated by Women, Early Childhood and Community Well-being Development Minister, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.
“Members of the public are invited to join with their families to enjoy the programme, which not only provides recreational activities but also fosters closer family relationships,” it said.
