KUCHING: The Maksak Sarawak netball team are on track to making a strong run at the Maksak Games 2024 after securing two impressive victories at the Paroi Sports Complex, Negeri Sembilan.

In a highly anticipated match, Sarawak triumphed over Terengganu 29-23, avenging their quarter-final loss from the previous year when they were beaten 42-31.

Maksak Sarawak’s wing attack, Izumi Nillie, expressed confidence in her team’s performance following the win.

“Terengganu are the silver medalists for Maksak Games 2023, and we lost to them last year in the quarter-finals.

“But this time, we came back stronger. My teammates and I feel more motivated and energised after this victory,” Izumi shared with Sarawak Tribune when contacted today (Dec 6).

The 25-year-old added that the team are focused on going further in the tournament.

“We will do our very best in the next match to qualify for the quarter-finals. Sarawak Boleh!” she said confidently.

Earlier in the tournament, Sarawak dominated Perlis 42-8, displaying exceptional teamwork and skill.
