KUCHING: In line with the Chinese New Year celebration, a Gala Dinner will be held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China.
The dinner, organised by the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS) is held next Thursday (Feb 29).
ACCCIS in a statement issued said the dinner will be officiated at by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
“The Chinese New Year Dinner is an annual gathering that brings together ACCCIS council members and committee members from its 22 chamber members spread across 12 divisions of Sarawak.
“This includes (members from) Kuching, Simanggang, Sibu, Miri, Sarikei, Bintulu, Limbang, Bau, Serian, Saratok, Bintangor, Kapit, Daro, Mukah, Batu Niah, Song, Sibuti, Baram, Lawas, Betong, Sebuyau, and Kanowit,” it said.
The association said other dignitaries will include members of the Sarawak Cabinet, Consul-Generals from various consulates, heads of government departments and agencies, counterparts from China, sponsors, trade associations, and commercial banks.
