BANGKOK: Thailand delivered a commanding performance to defeat Malaysia by 51 runs in their SEA Games Women’s T10 semi-final at the Terdthai Cricket Ground today.

Thailand set a strong total of 82 for 2 from six overs, attacking from the start and finding boundaries consistently to keep Malaysia under pressure.

Sarawakian Nur Dania Syuhada, who featured in Malaysia’s playing XI, performed well, but the team struggled to contain Thailand’s scoring momentum throughout the innings.

In reply, Malaysia were unable to settle into their chase. Early wickets fell quickly, and the batting line-up continued to lose players at regular intervals, making it difficult to keep up with the required rate.

Malaysia eventually closed on 31 for 6, well short of the target.

The result underlines Thailand’s quality as the world number 12, as they advance to the SEA Games T10 final.

Malaysia will next face Indonesia in the bronze-medal match on Friday (Dec 12) at 9am (Thai time) at the Terdthai Cricket Grounds in Bangkok.
