BANGKOK: Malaysia’s cricket team delivered a strong performance to defeat the Philippines by 26 runs in an exciting Twenty10 (T10) match at the 2025 SEA Games cricket tournament.

The Philippines struggled to set a competitive target, scoring a modest total of 67 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 9 overs.

Despite several valiant efforts, their innings lacked the momentum needed to challenge the Malaysian side.

Playing under warm conditions with temperatures around 29 degrees Celsius at the Asian Institute of Technology, Malaysia’s chase was swift and confident.

The team reached the target comfortably with a total of 93 runs, surpassing the Philippines’ score by 26 runs well before the completion of their 10 overs.

The victory demonstrated Malaysia’s dominance in the fast-paced T10 format, boosting their confidence as they continue their campaign for cricket gold at the SEA Games.

Malaysia’s next match is scheduled against Myanmar at 2  pm Thailand time.
