SIBU: The Ninth Infantry Brigade of Malaysia will be organising a bilateral exercise, Haringgaroo Exercise Series 74/2024, between the Malaysian Army (TDM) and the Australian Army (TDA) from October 17 to 31, 2024.

Ninth Infantry Brigade commander Brig-Gen Ahmad Norzaini Badrun stated that the primary goal of the exercise is to strengthen ties between the TDM and TDA while enhancing joint training capabilities.
“The 3rd Battalion of the Royal Ranger Regiment (from TDM) and the Rifle Company Butterworth (from TDA) will take part in this exercise, which will be held in the general areas of Sibu, Stapang, and Nanga Sekuau,” he said in a statement today (Oct 4).
He urged local residents and villagers in the training areas to fully cooperate with the military personnel during the exercise.
“Road users, farm and orchard owners, and residents are advised to refrain from hunting or engaging in other activities within the training zones to ensure safety during the exercise,” he stressed.
The army also hoped that no unwanted shooting incident like the one happened in Song would occur again.
