JAKARTA, Indonesia: Malaysian athletes from Bungaraya Kettlebell Club delivered strong performances at the Pendekar Kettlebell Competition 2026, reinforcing the country’s growing footprint in international strength sports.
The competition, hosted by Pendekar Kettlebell Club Jakarta yesterday (Sat, Feb 7), featured 38 athletes from six countries – Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, the Philippines and Germany.
Malaysia collected several podium finishes across multiple categories.
Muiz Tajul topped the Double Half Snatch 20kg Semi-Amateur division, while Farhan Ariff Mohd claimed gold in the Double Half Snatch Amateur 24kg category.
Alvin Lambino won the Double Half Snatch 16kg Beginner division and finished second overall across all categories. Martin Merkle secured silver in the Snatch Beginner 16kg event and placed fourth overall.
Lukman Jasril finished second in the Snatch 24kg Amateur division and fifth overall, while Judy Michael placed second overall in the Biathlon Semi-Amateur 12kg category.
Nadhirah Nadzri and Norbeizura Shamshuddin also represented Malaysia in the Snatch 8kg Beginner division, with Norbeizura earning third place in her category and seventh overall.
The outing reflects the Malaysian kettlebell community’s continued push to gain exposure and experience on the international stage.
