KUCHING: The Council of Federal Datuks in Malaysia (MDPM) has sought to strengthen ties and foster closer relations with Sarawak’s top leadership through an engagement with the Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
Wan Junaidi received an MDPM delegation led by its president, Datuk Tee Guan Pian, at his official residence here today.
The delegation took the opportunity to introduce its current leadership lineup and to seek Wan Junaidi’s advice and views on matters concerning unity, social contributions and community development.
Members of the delegation included Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim, deputy president Datuk Dr Ahmed Tasir Lope Pihie, secretary-general Datuk Wira Rosli Mat Hassan, vice-presidents Datuk Abdul Razak Dawood and Datuk Mohd Nawawi Awang, as well as executive committee members Datuk Gnanasambatham Doraisamy, Datuk Jacky Chai Chaun and Datuk Adrian Wei Hua Ung.
Discussions during the meeting also touched on the role of federal titleholders in contributing to welfare initiatives and societal development in Sarawak, in line with the national agenda.
Wan Junaidi shared his view that Sarawak’s racial harmony remained a strong example, with its multi-ethnic society continuing to live in close and harmonious relations.
He also expressed appreciation to MDPM for its efforts to strengthen engagement and relations with the people of Sarawak.
