KUCHING: Police have arrested a local man in connection with a case of voluntarily causing hurt using a helmet following an incident outside the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) building along Jalan Bukit Mata here.
The incident, which occurred at around 10.50 am on Dec 19, allegedly stemmed from a verbal dispute between the suspect and a 42-year-old local woman, which escalated when the suspect acted aggressively.
The altercation left the woman with facial injuries and was later taken to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for treatment.
A police report was filed for further action, which led to the suspect’s arrest recently.
Kuching police said the case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt using a dangerous weapon.
Members of the public are urged not to resort to physical violence when dealing with disputes as such actions can lead to serious legal consequences.
