BALIK PULAU: A man suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol has been arrested after ramming his car into four parked vehicles near a house of worship on Jalan Kenari, Bayan Lepas, here last night.

Southwest District Police Chief ACP Sazalee Adam said authorities were alerted at 11.55 pm that the man, driving a Honda Accord, had crashed into four vehicles, including a Proton X70, parked in the area.

“Traffic police received information about a drink-driving case involving a man and promptly responded, arresting the 55-year-old driver at the scene.

“The man did not sustain any injuries during the arrest. Further checks revealed he has no prior criminal or narcotics record,” he said in a statement today.

Sazalee said the car driven by the man was also seized and the case was being investigated under Section 45A(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. – BERNAMA
