BAU: A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of running an illegal lottery operation.
Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said the suspect was arrested by an operations team from the Bau Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at 8.25am this morning (Apr 7) in a vehicle behind a shop at Jalan Ong Guan Cheng here.
He said the team had conducted a reconnaissance for about 15 minutes on the suspect.
“A mobile phone, cash and two pieces of paper with numbers written on them were confiscated. The seizures and arrest were made under Section 4A (a) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953,” he said yesterday (Apr 7).
