BINTULU: Police have nabbed a man allegedly involved in the theft of a motorcycle in Bintulu Sentral on Mar 16.

District police chief Supt Nixon Joshua Ali said the 42-year-old suspect was arrested at around 4 pm at a premises on Jalan Abang Galau.

“The arrest was made following a tip-off, which enabled police officers and personnel to track down and apprehend the suspect.

“Following the arrest, police also seized a motorcycle believed to belong to the complainant, along with other items.

“This shows that the police are proactive and committed to tracking down suspects,” he said.

Nixon added that the suspect is a repeat offender with prior records related to vehicle theft.

The suspect has been remanded, and the case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code.

Members of the public are advised to exercise caution and ensure the safety of their residences, as well as secure their vehicles.
