Man, bitten by own dog, admitted to Quarantine Ward

KUCHING : A 39-year-old man, who was bitten by his own dog in Kampung Keranji, Serian on 17  May, has been admitted to the Quarantine Ward of the Sarawak General Hospital  after complaining of body ache and breathing difficulties.

He was admitted to the hospital a week ago.

He was transferred to the Quarantine Ward  after his condition worsened on Monday.

So far, four children and an adult had died of rabies since the outbreak surfaced in Serian June this year. The adult, Tinding ak Lambang died on Sunday night at 10pm.  

Serian, Sri Aman  and certain parts of Kuching including Sungai Maong wet market  and Kampung Serikin, Bau have been declared rabies-infected areas in Sarawak.
