BAU: A 23-year-old man tested positive for drugs after undergoing a urine screening at the Bau district police headquarters on Monday (Apr 6).

Bau police chief DSP Mohd Haide A. Rahman said the suspect was screened at about 7.45pm by personnel from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division and the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Division.

“The initial urine test returned positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” he said in a statement.

The suspect, identified as Glery Chan, was subsequently arrested and is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

He is currently being detained at the Bau police lock-up.

Initial questioning revealed that the suspect admitted to last consuming syabu two days prior to his arrest.
