MIRI: A local man was arrested for allegedly stealing food supplements from a pharmacy outlet in the city yesterday (Feb 25).
Miri police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the suspect was detained at about 1pm along Jalan Dato Permaisuri following information received.
He said police also recovered the stolen items from the suspect.
The suspect is being held at the Miri Central Police Station lock-up.
The case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft inside a building.
Farhan said police would not compromise on property crimes and would continue to intensify monitoring in public areas.
Those with information on criminal activities are urged to contact the police to assist in crime prevention efforts in the district.
