Man dies after bike crashes into culvert

SERIAN: A 30-year-old motorcyclist was killed after he crashed into a concrete pipe (culvert) at KM61, Kuching-Sri Aman Road on Sunday (Aug 16).

Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said that prior to the 11.10pm accident, the victim, identified as Azery Ali, 30, was traveling towards Serian.

While on his way, he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a culvert by the side of the road.

“The victim, who sustained severe head injuries, was pronounced dead at the scene by Serian Hospital medical officers,” Alexson said in a statement.

The body was then taken to Serian Hospital for further action.
