Man dies after motorcycle crashes into road barrier

BINTULU: A local man died on the spot after his motorcycle skidded and crashed into a road barrier along Jalan Sebauh on Saturday (May 10).

Bintulu police chief Supt Nixon Joshua Ali said the accident happened at 6.48pm while the victim, in his 30s, was travelling from Simpang Sebauh towards his home in Sebauh.

“Investigations found that the victim lost control of his motorcycle and crashed to the road barrier on the left side of the road. The impact threw him onto the roadside.

“The man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from Bintulu Hospital,” he said.

His body was later taken to the hospital for a post-mortem.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Anyone with information regarding the accident is urged to report them to investigating officer Insp Lydia Allan at 086-338575 or Bintulu police operations centre at 086-318304.
