SIBU: A 38-year-old male driver was killed while another man was injured in a road accident at Mile 16, Jalan Bintul-Sibu, here yesterday.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak said they received an emergency call at 6:40 pm and immediately deployed a team from the Sibu Jaya station to the scene.
“Two individuals, aged 38 and 57, were found trapped inside a four-wheel-drive vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel.
“Meanwhile, the other person suffered a fractured left leg,” the department said in a statement.
Both were extricated from the vehicle and handed over to the police.
