
KUCHING: A man who fell into the Sarawak River around midnight on Tuesday was found drowned early yesterday.
The man, identified as Drahman Spawi, in his 30s, from Kampung Sungai Bedil, was found by his friend near a floating mosque that was still under construction at the Kuching Waterfront here at about 12.30am.
A team of 13 personnel from Kuching fire station led by Avtar Singh rushed to the scene, about three kilometres from the fire station, after they were alerted on the incident by the police at 12.35am.
The body was retrieved from the riverbank and then handed over to the police for further action.
