KOTA SAMARAHAN: A local man escaped with minor injuries after his car skidded off the road and fell into a drain along Jalan Bukit Berangan Ria last night (May 27).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Kota Samarahan station were dispatched to the scene, about 13km away, following a distress call at 7.49 pm.
Upon arrival, the team confirmed that a Kia Spectra had overturned in the drain with its driver trapped inside.
Firefighters quickly carried out the extrication works to free the victim using rescue tools.
The victim, whose identity was not known, sustained light injuries and received preliminary treatment on-site before being taken to the hospital for further medical attention.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the operation at 8.40 pm.
