SADONG JAYA: A 30-year-old man is feared to have been attacked by a crocodile while fishing beneath the Sungai Buloh bridge here today.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received an emergency call at 12.40 pm, and personnel from the Asajaya station arrived at the location at about 1 pm.
According to witnesses, the victim, identified as Mohd Faizal Abdilah, had been casting a net with a friend along the riverbank before entering the water, which was about waist-deep.
He was believed to have been attacked by a crocodile while in the river.
Bomba said a surface search operation is currently underway to locate the victim, who has yet to be found.
Seven firefighters, assisted by a Light Fire Rescue Tender (LFRT), a Hilux and an aluminium boat, were deployed to the scene.
The search and rescue operation is ongoing.
