KUCHING: The Magistrate’s Court here today (Nov 1) fined a man RM1,000 or three weeks’ jail for involving in illegal gambling activities.
Wong Hai Sing, 35, pleaded guilty to the offence before Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali.
He was accused of committing the offence at a convenience store at Jalan Canna, on October 25.
Wong was charged under Section 9(1) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953, which carries a fine of up to RM5,000 or imprisonment of not more than six months, or both.
