KOTA SAMARAHAN: A 31-year-old man was found dead in a rental room on the third floor of a building at Desa Ilmu here on Thursday.

According to Kota Samarahan Police Chief, Supt Damataries Lautin, a report on the case was received at 4:25 pm.

“Initial investigations found no signs of forced entry into the deceased’s room. His wallet and other valuables were also found inside.

“The room was messy and unkept, typical of a bachelor’s quarters. Numerous bottles of alcoholic beverages were discovered at the scene,” he said in a statement on Friday.

He added that that the man, who is a supermarket worker, was confirmed dead at the scene by paramedics with no signs of foul play.

The case is being handled by the officer-in-charge of the police station (OCS), and is classified as a sudden death.
