KUCHING: A 42-year-old local man was found unconscious inside a car at the Customs housing area in Demak Laut here yesterday morning (Oct 23).

Kuching Ddstrict police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said police received a call from a member of the public at 9.08 am regarding the discovery.

“Acting on the information, a team from the Gita Police Station rushed to the scene and found the man unconscious inside the vehicle.

“Medical personnel from the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) later confirmed that the man had passed away, and the body was then sent to hospital’s Forensic Department for a post-mortem examination,” he said in a statement last night.

Preliminary investigations found no criminal elements involved, and the case is classified as a sudden death report (SDR).

Alexson also advised the public not to speculate on the incident out of respect for the family’s privacy and sensitivity.
