KUCHING: A 34-year-old local man was found dead, believed to have been shot while travelling as a passenger in a car along Jalan Stephen Yong here today (Apr 26).
Padawan district police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi said the victim’s two friends, who were in the same vehicle, brought him and the car to the Batu Kawa Police Station.
He said the men arrived at the station around 5.30 am to report that their friend, who was lying unresponsive inside the vehicle, was believed to have been shot while they were on the road.
“An investigation team from the Padawan District Police Headquarters, together with medical personnel, pronounced the man dead. There was a gunshot wound to the victim’s head,” he said in a statement today.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
