SERIAN: A local man was injured after his 10-tonne lorry skidded out of control and crashed along Jalan Kampung Belimbin B here early today (Jan 6).
The accident happened at around 3.25 am and it left the victim, whose identity was not known, trapped in the driver’s compartment.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Serian station were dispatched to the scene following an emergency call.
Upon arrival, the team confirmed the accident and used hydraulic tools to extricate the victim from the wreckage.
Once freed, he was handed over to paramedics for initial treatment before being sent to Serian Hospital for further care.
The extent of his injuries was not immediately known.
Firefighters also conducted flushing works at the scene to ensure the area was safe and posed no further danger to road users.
The rescue operation ended at 4.34 am.
