BINTULU: A local man was injured after his car veered off the road and crashed into a drain along Jalan Daisy, Taman Beverly Hill last night (Aug 4).
The accident happened at 8.09 pm and the 52-year-old victim was trapped in his seat after his Perodua Axia ended front first into a narrow drain.
The victim was found unconscious in the vehicle and reportedly sustained injuries due to the impact.
Firefighters from Bintulu station was dispatched to the scene, about 12km away, following an emergency call.
Upon arrival, they opened the vehicle’s door and extricated the victim using a stretcher before transporting him to Bintulu Hospital for further treatment.
The extent of his injuries has yet to be determined.
The rescuers ended the operation at 8.35 pm.
