MIRI: A road accident involving a trailer, a lorry, and a Proton Saga left one person injured this morning (Dec 23) at Taman Bilangan, along the Coastal Road between Bintulu and Miri.

According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department, emergency services were alerted to the incident at 8.55 am, and firefighters from the Kidurong Fire and Rescue Station were promptly dispatched to the scene.

The driver of the Proton Saga sustained a hip injury but was not trapped in the vehicle.

Firefighters assisted in stabilising the victim and safely removed him using a stretcher. He was then handed over to paramedics for further medical care.

The drivers of the lorry and the trailer involved escaped unhurt.

The Fire and Rescue Department has since handed over the case to the police for further investigation.

Firemen help remove the injured car driver.
