SRI AMAN: A driver died on the spot after his lorry, laden with stones, rear-ended another lorry at a weighing station along Jalan Kuari yesterday (Mar 26).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Sri Aman station were dispatched to the scene, about 22km away, following an emergency call at 6.52pm.
Upon arrival, they found the victim trapped in his seat and extrication works were carried out. An excavator was used to relocate the lorry before the victim could be removed.
Paramedics later confirmed that the victim, identified as Sebli Jerandeng, 54, had died at the scene.
His body was later handed over to the police for transport to the hospital.
