MIRI: A senior citizen was killed in a collision between a small pickup truck and a car near the Kampung Beraya junction at KM29 Miri Coastal Road on Tuesday (April 26).
Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the pickup driven by a 55-year old man exited the junction and crashed into a Perodua Viva, resulting in the death of Tony Ningkan Lamada, 68, who was heading towards Miri from Bekenu.
The truck driver and his 44 year-old female passenger escaped unhurt in the 6.50 am incident.
Tony, who was driving alone, was pronounced dead at the Miri Hospital.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
